Storage

Almost everything on Crunchify runs in your browser, and the tools that remember things remember them on your device — not on a server. That is the whole point, but it comes with a catch worth knowing about.

Data stored on this device

Tools like Palette, Timesheet, Meal Planner and Budget keep everything in your browser. That storage is not permanent by default.

What the browser actually promises

By default, nothing. Browsers treat data a website stores as expendable: when the device runs short of disk space, they are free to delete it to make room, and they will not ask first. On iPhone and iPad, Safari goes further and clears it after a few weeks without a visit.

Asking for protection changes that. Once granted, your browser will keep this site's data until you delete it yourself. It costs nothing and it does not give the site any new information about you.

What it does not cover

  • Clearing your browsing data. If you clear site data, or delete your browser profile, it goes — protection only stops the browser from tidying up on its own.
  • A different device or browser. Local data is local. Nothing you store in Chrome appears in Safari, or on your phone.
  • Private or incognito windows. Those discard everything when you close them, by design.

If you want a real backup

Protection is not the same thing as a copy somewhere else. For anything you would be upset to lose, use one of these too:

  • Sync to Google Drive. The Recipe Box, Todo and Grocery List tools can keep a copy in your own Drive, in a private folder only this site can see. Start from your account page.
  • Export a file. Some tools can download their data — look for an export button in the tool itself. Keep the file somewhere you back up.

Not every tool offers an export yet. If one you rely on is missing it, say so and it will get one.

This site is vibe coded. The tools here were built largely by AI, so treat what they tell you as a starting point rather than an answer — double-check anything that matters before you rely on it.
