2 years is not a fixed number of days: depending on which months it spans it covers between 730 and 731 days. That is why calendar arithmetic in months is done by moving the month number rather than by adding days.

Calendar arithmetic is less obvious than it looks. Adding 2 years to January 1, 2026 gives January 1, 2028, while the same offset from July 1, 2026 gives July 1, 2028, a different number of calendar days later, because the months in between are different lengths.
